Mission

The English Language Learner Program (ELLP) supports and promotes academic and linguistic excellence for English learners in the Bassett Unified School District.

 Our goals are to:

  • Implement and support programs that provide differentiated instruction based on students’ academic and language needs, including English Language Development (ELD), Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP), Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE), and Primary Language Support
  • Engage and support every student in learning English and reaching their highest potential in all academic content areas
  • Implement high quality professional development to ensure implementation of the district’s Master Plan for English Learners and the Title III Action Plan
  • Support and collaborate with school site leadership, teachers, and staff to promote best practices to meet the instructional needs of EL’s
  • Collaborate with parents as full partners in education by providing opportunities to be meaningfully involved and make a difference in their children’s lives
