Bassett High School Students, Teachers and Administrators Read to Students

On March 1-2, 2012, students across the Bassett Unified School District celebrated Read Across America. Students from Bassett High School, teachers and administrators throughout the district brought excitement to elementary school students to foster the love of reading. This particular Read Across America day also marked the 108thbirthday of Dr. Suess. Motivating and encouraging students to read is a critical factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. We celebrate and honor our Bassett High school Olympians who brought joy to so many students. For our high school students, it provided an opportunity to return to their former elementary schools to give back to our students and connect with their past teachers who impacted their lives. Lastly, we honor our teachers who foster the love of reading on a daily basis with our students.
